So you have moved to the Spanish countryside, or are thinking about it, and you find there is so much that you need to know, so much to learn.

Are you bringing pets with you? How will they cope? What new diseases/dangers do you need to be aware of? What beaurocracy are you likely to come across?

Are you bringing a horse with you or thinking of buying one here? What feed is available? What regulations are there?

Are you hoping to grow your own vegetables? What can be grown and when?

Are you suddenly going to have a lot of vegetables to use? Need some Spanish style recipes?

Are you going to have limited services - no mains electricity, water, or land line telephone. Will solar power do what you want?

Will you be taking on olive and almond trees? What care do they need? How do you pick them? How do you sell them? How can you use them yourselves?

You will in fact be enjoying the best parts of spain, for surely, the outdoor life, all the county side holds, including the people, are the best parts. Those that elect to be in the concrete jungles on the costas will miss much of this, often finding the outdoors too hot in the summer and having to resort to the indoors and the air conditioning. In the country with the shade from an old grape vine or olive you can appreciate so much more.
