23/07/07 Snake in the Window Box
As I sat typing on my computer in a first floor room, I was surprised to see a snake looking in the window in front of me (the window was closed). The snake, around 4 feet long, was in a large built-in window box and I'm not sure how he could have got there.
I believe it to be a Horseshoe Whipsnake which is quite common and non venomous but we don't normally have such a close up view. There is a lot of plant growth in that window box and it eventually decided to hide there.
We have some bird nests in the eaves above that window box, perhaps that was the attraction.
