19/08/07 Planting potatoes for Christmas

It might sound a strange time to be planting potatoes but the plan is that by replanting some of the potatoes we have just dug up, in the same ground, we shall have new potatoes for Christmas.
This is a first time for us, mainly because our potato crop hasn't been too impressive in previous years and I therefor haven't felt inclined to put any of the precious spuds back in the ground.
They were of course going into bone dry soil and will need a bit of water to help them on their way.
