27/08/07 Sowing Late Carrots and Spinach
We try to get a succession of vegetables in the garden and sow or plant at various times.
it is all too easy to concentrate on getting early vegetables and ignore the possibility of having some a bit later than usual. Having a longer growing season here compared to the UK, there is a greater opportunity to grow vegetableslater in the year.
The spinach should get off to a good start in the present warmth but will then grow slowly through the winter. We make up for the slow growth by having a relatively large area of spinach.
The area of the garden that had grown potatoes earlier this year isnow all back in use again with more potatoes, pumpkins, and the spinach.
