01/09/07 Finished Using our Potatoes

It appeared to be quite a big sack full of potatoes that we put in store about 5 weeks ago but we have finished using them all now.

I can report that they did store well and had there been, storage woudln't have been a problem.
They were in a sack in the dark in a cupboard under the stairs - cooler than some parts of the house. It is important to only store top quality potatoes - any with blemishes or cuts are likely to rot and affect others in the sack.

We started digging our own potatoes in mid May (later than usual) which means they have kept us supplied for 3 and a half months and we hope to have some new potatoes around Christmas time from those we re-planted a couple of weeks ago.
