26/01/07 Change in the Weather
Woke upthis morning to a sprinkling of snow - we were just above the snow line here at 630m above sea level.
It was mostly sleet during the night and it probably amounted to something near to half an inch of rain. Still not metricated with rainfall - that would equate to around 12mm although here it would be expressed as 15 litres per sq metre.
The cold has made the broad beans bend over as usual but they should stand up again.
Although we do of course prefer the sunshine, the water is very welcome - it must be approaching 3 months since it rained properly. On that occasion we had around 6 inches of the course of a week - a very useful rain but we need more.
According to the forecast, we may be in for a wet week, so hopefully that will benefit plants and water supplies.
