21/12/09 Some Much Needed Rain at Last

Of course, being Christmas, we have family visitors here and we would like to have bright sunny weather for them (we tend to think they expect it and we would like to supply it). However we have had a damp day, which on top of the light rain we had a week ago and the good inch of rain we had 2 days ago, will be doing the countryside some good.

We had some rain at the end of September and nothing to speak of since, in a time when we would ususally expect to get a large proportion of our limited anul rainfall.
That rain in September was probably the only useful rain we have had since the long hot summer.
