05/06/07 Harvesting the Garlic

The garlic plants have all dried off now. I have heard it said that garlic should be planted on the shortest day of the year and harvested on the longest. Have never managed to keep ours growing until the longest day, they are always maturre before then.
Even so, although the garlic are not huge, they are very useable. Shall now either tie them in bunches orplace in a net bag and hang under the eaves of the house - dry and out of the sun
