If you have the space, and can keep them watered, it is enjoyable growing Pumpkins just to see that mas of huge leaves.
They quite easy to grow from seed as the seed is large and they appear to cope well with being planted out.

Thjey will however need plenty of water and it is a good idea do have some manure underneath them.
